I read this over several nights when I woke and couldn't get back to sleep. Mesmerizing and enjoyable but I'm not sure I truly got it.

This book was not what I was expecting. I had in my mind some Russian version of 1984 (don't ask me why) and instead stumbled on a book which mixed the supposedly abusurdist world of the devil and withcraft with the almost equally absurdist world of athiestic state. I need to read this book again.
