I am not sure what I was expecting, but it was a bit underwhelming overall. I guess with all the hype and negativity surrounding the book I was expecting something more explosive. It was just a fantasy story that wasn't as good as Midnight's Children! Worth reading though.

Having refused to read this for decades, I was under-impressed with this. Loved Midnight's Children but, while this was creative, it wasn't as good.
