This is an entertaining story. Don Quixote believed himself to be a great knight as those he read about so set out with his servant to do great deeds. Mishaps, misunderstandings, and absurdness ensue.

Having entered my sixth decade, I am now wondering why it has taken me so long to read this marvellous book. For a novel written in the 1th centruy, this is a very accessible book. The adventures of Don Quixote as he revives knight erranty are delightfully comic an surely Sancho Panza is the first and one of the most delightfuly side kicks in literature. The juxtapostion of Don Quixote's knight errant 'madness' and his measured wisdom in all other matters is poignant and makes one wonder if the wise man mad or the mad man wise? Yes iti s a big book but it should be on any literary fan's bucket list
