The story is well put together, beautiful; the novel crafts a story that is unlike most I have read and unlike most will get a glimpse of living in the west. Though not written by an actual Geisha, I trust the author's credentials enough to accept the gorgeous story as a peek into what the lives of the geisha could have been like.

My favourite book ever. It provides a realist, juicy account of life for geisha in Japan and how the war took its toll on those who lived there. This book is a true masterpiece and I hope for the sake of future generations that people never stop reading it.
