While I liked the book, it was too dated to be great in 2017. For early 20th century American Chicago/big city social history, it was a fun read.

I rather liked this little book! Its a look back into the 1930's in America through the eyes of a fourteen year old Studs Lonigan and how he fights to come to terms with growing up.
