Can't believe it took this list for me to finally read this wonderful, amazing book!

Carson McCullers has created some of the most moving characters that I have ever read. They are not all likeable but their individual pain touched my heart. How a young white woman could have had the understanding to write about the issues of poverty and capitalism and the injustices of being black just astounded me. An amazing book.
