I read this book because it is a classic loved by many. For me it was okay - mysterious in parts, gloomy in parts, dramatic and love-torn in parts. Jane had a hard upbringing, then when out on her own she became a nanny for a little girl. It's a strange household, with dark secrets, and despite Jane's better judgement she falls in love with the child's father. Tragedy strikes, and on it goes. Well worth the read.

It's long. It's a bit slow. But is definitely one of the most well written books I've read on here.

Jane is a strong woman that you can't help but feel sympathy towards. Funny, light-hearted but deep at the same time, this book is truly amazing! (And the part that describes the noises in the attic is really creepy, sent chills down my spine!)

When i start to reading books i search very hard for classic romance books..When i see that novel and the high ratings,i step back for the size..So i read some others books and when find the time i search this..When i ending that magnificent novel,i realize is not one classic romance book.Is something more beyond any word or any judgement..It have so many innocent emotions and when i read it,difficult i hold my tears.. That book really broke my heart and few things out there can give me so many emotions.."Charlotte Bronte" have one amazing writing and for me was perfect to read it..I hope one day to give one chance to "Villette" and one more time see that magnificent woman to writing and give emotions to me so easy..

This was a great book. I thought I would hate it when my teacher assigned my class to read it, but it is now easily one of my favorite books of all time.
