I really enjoyed this book, how on earth did I skip reading Dickens as a youngster? Ah well, I am making up for it now.

This book was assigned reading in grade 10 or 11, I can't remember which, but I just couldn't get into it then. Now, many years later, I listened to it on Audible.com and really enjoyed it. The narration was performed superbly. Poverty, high society, fortunes gained and lost, love denied, adventures, drama, murder, twists and turns and surprises - all made this a very interesting novel in which to spend one's time.

David Copperfield or Great Expectations? Can't decide. I read Dickens back to back to back in 1985...heaven!

Dickens is such a master. One of his best stories. Hands down, a classic.

I know many people do not like this book because they do not have the patience for it, but it is a fantastic book if you take the time to read it!

I'm going to be hated for this but this book was severely long-winded and had me falling asleep during the middle. Pip's love for Stella was oddly touching and redeems the book a bit in my eyes. I recommend it with a warning that it's not a light read.
